Every week just gets weirder. The Bills ain’t got no tight ends, the Raiders almost lost their entire O-line, Daniel Jones deliberately trying to get the ‘Rona because he’s embarrassed that he was tackled by the turf monster... it just goes on and on. Speaking of which...

I think I must be the only guy who thinks the Broncos can actually win today. Look, I’m not some crazed homer fan . If the inconsistent Raiders can do it, I think anyone can. One, everyone expects the Broncos to lose. Two, they get Noah Fant and AJ Bouye back this week. Three , if you look at the schedule after this week their next four games are utterly winnable, so even if they lost this one it’s no big hurdle. There’s really no pressure on them at all. Did anyone at all expect the Broncos to make a hardcore playoff run this year? I believe they’re at best somewhere in the 7-9 to 9-7 range, maybe snagging a wild card spot if they’re very lucky . I expected them to lose both Chiefs games, so I’m not gonna cry that hard if they lose. They need to make sure they’re playing zone coverage because the Chiefs murder them in man every time. Probably not a good idea to blitz. Vic Fangio normally doesn’t blitz anyway, but he has the last two weeks and it’s worked. It won’t against Patrick Mahomes, at least not if you don’t actually get to him and sack him. Also, THEY’RE GOING TO THROW IT TO TRAVIS KELCE A LOT. SOMEBODY PLEASE BE AWARE OF THAT. THANK YOU. These two teams played in the snow late last year and the Broncos didn’t play well, but it did slow the Chiefs offense down. They won that game 23-3. If the Broncos can hold them to that many points this time, they’ll only need 8 Brandon McManus field goals to win. I do think this is their only shot, because I doubt they’ll be able to get a win at Arrowhead later on.

I guess the NFL is at least trying to make up for their frequent scheduling of ass games for us, because the early game on CBS is probably the game of the week. Steelers-Titans. I guess I’d give the edge to the Steelers slightly, though I really want to see if they can stop Derrick Henry at all. PM Game is Chiefs-Broncos naturally. On Fox we have Packers-Texans. Oy. I think the Pack are going to kill the Texans, but I’m all for a good upset . SNF is Seahawks-Cardinals because the Raiders O-line might have the plague. Hey, remember the last time we saw these guys on Sunday Night Football? That riveting 6-6 tie? I think I’ll take the over this time. Every time I think of taking the Seahawks in this matchup the Cards win, yet I’m dumb enough to take them again. Monday Night will be Bears-Rams. I’m not picking against the Bears no matter how bad Nick Foles plays.

The rest:

Browns at Bengals - The Browns should totally win this game, so I’m picking the Bengals.

Cowboys at Foot ies - I want the train wreck that is the NFC East to keep right on wreckin’, so give me the Foot Soldiers in this one.

Lions at Falcons - Oh wow. Speaking of train wrecks. It would be hilarious to me if the Lions go on a winning streak now.

Panthers at Saints - The Teddy Bowl. I expect the Saints to win, but I’m still in Teddy Bridgewater’s corner.

Bucs at Raiders - I really wanted to see what would have happened if the Raiders had to play this game without nearly all of their starting O-line. Oh well. Tom Brady, do us a solid here and knock out the Raiders today.

49ers at Patriots - Since the Pats could actually practice this week, I’m going to take them. They just don’t usually lose two in a row at home.

Jaguars at Chargers - Apparently the Jags are planning to bench Minshew if he struggles today. Then we won’t have any QBs with interesting facial hair anymore! Don’t let it happen!

Colts, Dolphins, Vikings, and Ravens are on their byes.

I actually planned for the snow today. I laid in a few big boy cans of beer and some scotch, and I’m gonna make a big batch of beef curry. I very much recommend this stuff:

Kinja'd!!!

The instructions are on the side of the package. All you need is stew or stir-fry beef, or chicken, or whatever meat you feel like, along with potatoes, carrots, and an onion. It’s super simple to make and it’s fantastic. When I’m browning the beef I season it liberally with Badia curry seasoning, but other than that I stick to the directions. Also, I use small golden potatoes because they cook faster and are nice and creamy. Try it, you won’t be sorry.

Enjoy the games!

The beef curry and scotch sounds perfect for a snow day!

Also, just how bad is the snow? I have 2 kickers on my fantasy roster - McManus and Butker. Yay. But I’m really trying to figure out if I should play Denver’s D over New England’s. If it’s sloppy in Denver I’m playing them (I only get points for defensive scores, don’t care if KC scores 70 or 7).

Finally, my Bears play tomorrow which I always hate - and the rest of the country hates too, because their games are always brutal to watch. They will probably beat the Rams on a stupid turnover or a brain fart by the Rams somehow.  Blech.

It could be sloppy, but it’s a real fine snow at the moment. We don’t even have an inch on the ground right now. I don’t think it’s going to get worse until later tonight.

I’m getting ready to make the curry now. This time I got stir fry beef instead of stew meat. I wanted it to be a bit more tender. Stew meat does work fine, though, and it’s usually way cheaper.

Go Bills! I’m not expecting this to be a very exciting game but could always be proven wrong. I have more than enough alcohol for the day. Bought chicken wings yesterday but it’s a little early for those though.

LOL! I completely missed the Bills-Jets game! Could anyone blame me for trying to block out the Jets' existence? Yes, go Bills!

Sadly, no, but that would have been on brand for the NFC East.

I try to write them off but the Bills have been playing a bit sloppy and giving out stupid penalties. I’m sure it will be close enough to give me anxiety the entire time

RIP Andy Dalton. That was a vicious hit.  Who is the backup backup backup quarterback? On a personal note, Dinucci went to my alma mater, but the team was terrible when I was there (class of 89). Looks like Dallas will be quarterback shopping this week. Anybody got Kap’s number?

Turnovers, man. Not a good day for your ponies.

No, ‘t wasn’t. Hopefully Phillip Lindsay won't have to be in the concussion protocol for too long. He was running his ass off in that game.
